Medical University of Łódz
The Medical University of Łódź is a higher state school operating on the basis of the Act of Parliament from 27th July 2002 on the formation of the Medical University
of Łódź from Medical University of Łódź and Military Medical University of Łódź, subordinated to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, self-depended in matters of science, teaching and management. The basic objectives are: education of students in medical sciences and their preparation to the profession of a physician, dentist, pharmacist and medical analyst; preparation of candidates to teaching and research activities; arrangement of postgraduate training; and conducting scientific research.
Medical University of Łódź provides 4 year postgraduate courses. Graduates below 30 years can apply for the course. The candidates must pass an exam in a foreign language and an exam in the field of his/her dissertation.
The English Language Medical Division has been created at the Military Medical Faculty. The Division provides 4 year studies for the American and Canadian students and 6 year studies for the students from Europe and the rest of the world, leading to a degree of "Doctor of Medicine (MD)".
The 4 year course programme is based on the American criteria while the 6 year program based on the European Community criteria. A five-year curriculum at the English Language Faculty of Dentistry is available as well, leading to a degree of "Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)".
International co-operation with foreign partners plays an essential part at the Medical University of Łódź. Young scientists and visiting professors from abroad are invited to expand the collaboration with our scientists in international research. Medical University of Łódź has established bilateral agreements with many educational and scientific institutions in e.g. France, Germany, Spain, United States, Belgium, Holland and elsewhere.

- 3 year curriculum leading to a "licencjat" degree in cosmetology
- 4 year postgraduate courses leading to a degree of "doctor"
Accredition
The Medical University of Lodz is fully accredited in Poland and in the European Union. Successful Completion of a 6 –year MD program or DMD Program or Msc in Pharmacy allows for an automatic recognition of a diploma in all member states of the European Union. The tuition fee for foreigners in the academic year 2007/2008 is Euro 8500 per year for medicine and dentistry Euro 5500 for pharmacy (master's degree)Euro 2300 for physiotherapy (Bachelor’s degree). Euro 200 Fee at the time of Registration. Fees for foreign students include lectures, seminars, laboratories and examinations but do not cover accommodation and living expenses. The payment should be made into the Medical
University's bank account before the study commence.
