GATAPU-General Aptitude Test for Admission to Polish Universities

The areas of Physics covered in the Aptitude Test :

Physics

Requirements on Physics:

Questions for the examination will come from these subtopics, but not all of the subtopics will necessarily be included in every examination:

  • Kinematics: vectors, vector algebra, components of vectors, coordinate systems, displacement, velocity, and acceleration. Motion in one dimension. Motion in two dimensions including projectile motion. Circular motion and rotation, uniform and accelerated circular motion, centripetal acceleration.
  • Dynamics - Newton's laws of motion: static equilibrium (first law); dynamics of a single particle (second law); systems of two or more bodies (third law); friction. Levers, pulleys, inclined planes.  Springs and Hooke’s law. Linear momentum, impulse and momentum, conservation of linear momentum, collisions. Rotational  dynamics – torque, angular momentum and its conservation, centrifugal force.
  • Work, energy, power: work and work-energy theorem, forces and potential energy, conservation of energy, power.
